The importance of Pacific Shell Hooks to the survival of the Samoan and Pacific people cannot be understated. Bait was never used in ancient times, instead the curvature and the shine of the shell hook was used to attract sea game.
The edges are carefully carved with Samoan Motifs and Tattoo symbols.
